How to setup Google Analytics for a WordPress Website.

Google Analytics

Creating a Google Analytics Account

It's pretty straight forward how to create a Google analytics sign-on.  Just like any other website login, they will ask you to setup using an email and password.  It is good practice to use a Gmail account for your email, just to keep everything streamlined.  You can go here to setup an email:  Setup my Google Email

Next, do a simple search for Google Analytics on Google itself.  You will be brought to a page that says, "Welcome to Google Analytics".  Hit the Start Measuring button.  From here you will be asked to:

  1. Create an account name, then hit next.
  2. Create a property
  3. Describe your business (ie.size, business type, etc.)
  4. Tell Google your business objectives
  5. Tell Google to start collecting data
  6. From here, you can set up a data stream from multiple sources...you can choose "Web" because you want to see your website traffic.
  7. You will need to specify your "WWW" name and hit the create and continue button.
  8. This is where you will copy and paste the code Google provides you into the header file of your WordPress website.  A great tutorial to do this can be found on Youtube, :
